About the Role
As a Full Stack Developer in this position, you will be part of an agile team responsible for creating and maintaining the PS&L Service Layer. This middleware system ensures seamless communication between backend applications and various front-end interfaces used across global warehouses. The Service Layer plays a critical role in efficient spare parts management, supporting Volvo Cars’ commitment to customer satisfaction and brand excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Software Solutions: Work on microservices and legacy applications to enhance the PS&L Service Layer.
- Build Scalable Systems: Ensure the middleware handles high volumes of transactions with speed, security, and reliability.
- Design Technical Solutions: Architect complex solutions for supply chain and logistics needs.
- Code Review and Best Practices: Maintain code quality through reviews and implement best development practices.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside international teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Mentor and Guide Developers: Support fellow developers and technical leads through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Maintain software build processes and automation frameworks.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Advanced proficiency in Java for backend development.
- Microservices development using Spring Boot / Node.js.
- Experience in building REST APIs.
- Front-end development skills with React or Angular.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Event-based integrations using Kafka or similar technologies.
- Experience with databases (both RDBMS and NoSQL).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Experience with Python and test automation frameworks (preferred but not mandatory).
