Kotak 811 is looking for skilled Software Developer Engineer 1 (SDE1) – Backend professionals for its Digital Banking division. This role is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and is ideal for candidates with 0-4 years of experience in backend development, microservices, and database management.
Role and Responsibilities
As an SDE1-Backend, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining backend services using technologies like Node.js, Java Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
- Building and implementing microservices and API integrations.
- Managing middleware like RabbitMQ for seamless data flow.
- Applying design patterns to solve backend design challenges efficiently.
- Optimizing performance through debugging, testing, and performance analysis.
- Working with various databases, including relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Configuring and deploying services with API gateways such as AWS API Gateway and Kong for enhanced service security and discoverability.
- Ensuring code quality through unit testing (Junit or similar) and feature testing.
- Staying updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices in software development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js, Java Spring Boot, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of API development and middleware.
- Experience in working with databases (RDS & NoSQL) and ensuring efficient query performance.
- Knowledge of service security, discoverability, and throttling mechanisms.
- Experience in unit testing, feature testing, and load testing using industry-standard tools.
General Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex systems efficiently.
- Detail-oriented and capable of taking initiative.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup-like environment.

Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-4 years of relevant backend development experience.
- Candidates from Tier 1 colleges are preferred, but all skilled applicants are welcome.
