Role: Software Engineer Backend (Mumbai – Remote)

As a Software Engineer Backend, you’ll be responsible for designing high-performing backend systems, writing clean and efficient code, and ensuring that BrowserStack products remain reliable, scalable, and innovative.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality backend code and actively participate in design, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Work across web application layers, backend, systems, and streaming technologies.
- Develop multi-tier scalable, high-performance backend applications that run 24×7.
- Solve issues across operating systems, APIs, and databases with innovative solutions.
- Research and adopt new technologies that align with BrowserStack’s product requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Write efficient SQL queries, design schemas, and manage relational databases.
- Scale distributed applications using synchronous and asynchronous design patterns.
Skills and Experience Required
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in backend/software engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Node.js, Unix shell, etc.).
- Familiarity with compiled languages such as Java, Go, or C.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Windows systems, networking, and operating systems.
- Experience working below the application layer (file systems, kernels, custom installations).
- SQL query optimization and relational database design knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
